Rune’s technical expertise covers a broad field within the pharmaceutical sciences. However, in particular, Rune has extensive knowledge within organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, structure elucidation by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and pharmaceuticals.

Rune holds a M.Sc. degree in pharmaceutical sciences and a Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry from The University of Copenhagen. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 2012, he moved to the United States to conduct research at The Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, within the field of total synthesis of complex natural products. He returned to Copenhagen in 2015, where he joined LEO Pharma as a research scientist in the medicinal chemistry department. Rune started his career as a patent consultant in 2016.

Rune is working with drafting and prosecution of patent applications as well as providing advice and opinions on general patent matters.
